If you’re looking to impress your client, then sign up for Google Alerts. You can set up an email alert to bring you related news from the web for your search term.
For example, the search term could be your client’s brand name, company name or competitor names. This means you’ll get all the latest juicy news sent straight to your inbox as often as you request. Which means you can be the first one to pass this on to your client!
Don’t forget if you receive an interesting, relevant piece of information that you just know your client will love, make sure you spend the time to read the article yourself and add a covering note explaining why you think this information is relevant. It’s not enough just to send it straight on. You need to add some value first.
