Is AI about to replace account managers?

We’ve all heard the noise: AI is coming for your job. But when it comes to account management, the truth is a little different.

Because what AI can’t replace is the human-to-human value account managers bring - the relationship building, commercial insight, the creative spark, the confidence to challenge clients (nicely) and the ability to ask questions that uncover gold-dust opportunities.

What AI can do is help account managers think more strategically - and act more proactively - so you can retain clients and grow your accounts faster and more consistently than ever before. According to the Marketing AI Institute, 80% of what marketers and knowledge workers do daily will be AI-assisted within the next 1–2 years.

So the question is - will account managers be ready to adapt? Or risk being left behind? That’s why I’ve prepared: AI for Account Managers

It’s a practical additional training to my Account Accelerator[TM] programme designed to show account managers exactly how to:

  • Use AI to prep for client meetings that actually spark commercial conversations

  • Uncover upsell opportunities, faster

  • Ask better questions, backed by smarter insights

  • Stay one step ahead of clients (and competitors)

  • Cut admin and get hours back every week

This isn’t another generic “prompt guide", it’s AI applied specifically to the realities of agency life - and becoming the kind of strategic partner clients want in the room.

What I cover (because it’s not just about learning a few AI tools)
Let’s be honest, AI tools are evolving at lightning speed. What’s hot this month might be outdated the next. Which is why this training isn’t about learning one tool or memorising prompts. Instead, I’ll be giving you something much more valuable: a way to think about AI.
Here’s what we focus on:

  • Spotting opportunities (and red herrings)

    • We’ll look across the entire account manager workflow - from onboarding to retention - and I’ll show you how to identify where AI can add value, speed things up and help you think more strategically.

    • Equally important: where it won’t help—and could even slow you down.

  • Future-proofing your role

    • Where is account management heading? (Spoiler: it’s not where it used to be.)

    • We’ll explore how the role is evolving - and how AI can help you align your skillset so you stay relevant, valuable and in demand. And to make that even easier, I’ll give you a practical tool to help break down your workflow - and flag the areas where AI can genuinely help (and where it’s just a shiny distraction).

  • Practical, real-world examples

    • You’ll get simple, step-by-step walkthroughs of how to use AI right now—to prep for client meetings, brainstorm ideas, write emails faster, spot commercial opportunities, and build stronger relationships.

This isn’t about turning account managers into robots, it’s about helping them think more like agency owners - with AI as their (very clever) sidekick.

For now, just know this: AI isn’t coming for your job. But the account manager who knows how to use it… just might.
